"REMEMBER! This application is the first impression you will give to us as so take your time to fill this out seriously, if you dont, why should we bother reading it?"
The application is going to give us a first impression of you. The first impression of you, is the application itself, its form, rather than its actual content. In past experiences, many of those who were accepted have well-written applications which provide us with a solid first impression of the person's attitude.
The answers should be extensive, relating your knowledge of the game, your character, as well as your personal wishes and ideas for their character beyond "getting more gear". The first things for you to think about is thus what you want, what you are like and what you wish to do with your character.
Only after you have thought about that, start filling out the application itself. Some questions are obvious, some require some more thought. Please take the questions and thus your answers, seriously. You could try to joke your way through but a week's worth of dealing with applications shows that jokers impress nobody. Instead, it likely results in us not taking your application seriously either.
In addition, do not leave ANY fields blank, that includes the Armory Link field (Battle.net). If you can't be bothered to fill in the complete form we likely can't be bothered to consider you. If you give us nothing to discuss, nothing to look at, nothing to consider, we'll be stuck, and you will be too. Additionally do not give us the answer that we can look things up. We know we can, but you come to us with a request and it's up to you to provide complete and accurate information.
Also, with some consideration for your nationality and age, your use of English will also weigh in the impression. It's annoying to read an application filled with poorly spelled words you have to deciper and lack of punctuation that forces you to guess where the sentences end. It does not have to be perfect but there's no reason to butcher the language, in most cases.
If you do not know the answer to something it's not a shameful thing to admit it (with the possible exception of not knowing your difference from server time, that IS bad
). As the application form reflects not only the current status of your character but also our first impression of your attitude, displaying that you have thought about something you did not know and gave the best answer you could usually conveys a willingness to learn and work on yourself. This is far more important than a few epics, especially if you're a class we're recruiting. Trying to joke your way through, again, will not impress anyone. We do have a sense of humour, you'll likely give us a few good chuckles. And then we'll deny your application because as much as we might like you, raidbosses do NOT have a sense of humour.
So please, do yourself, and us, a favour. Take your time and take your application seriously. It will increase both the chance you'll be accepted and the rapidity with which you will recieve your answer. Good luck, and perhaps we'll see each other in green text soon!
